Pièce de résistance

I'm pretty sure I can just retire right now, nothing I do will ever be better than this.

Combustible Lemon Launcher

[5/5] UV mapped, finished some details, and started throwing on some textures. Trying to remain consistent with the TF2 texture style but it's a bit bland right now. I need to add some edge highlights and wear & tear.

Also, some low-poly lemons. ಠ_ಠ

[5/4] Instead of sleeping, I blocked out a lemon launcher.

I was creating this as a community request, I figured I would toss my hat in the ring. It got pretty popular and shot to the top, so someone made this comic about it.

Chapel Update

Well, the term is officially over. I wasn't able to get the chapel to the level of finish I wanted, but here's the current WIP build. I've learned so much, so I'm really glad that I had the opportunity to do this this term.

Here's a choppy flythrough of the level as it is right now.

Also a small Virtual Joust update, here's a render of the horse's untextured armor and trapping. Textures are in the works right now.

I was also going through some of my old stuff and found a silly Octopus Knight from Clarkson.

Happy Halloween

I have been busy beyond belief. Did a quick sketch tonight to relax, based off a funny picture of a friend of a friend, who looked both appalled/in awe. I didn't do a great job capturing the expression or her likeness, but it was nice to paint for a bit. It's good to look at something like this, because a year ago, I wouldn't have even imagined I could be at this level. Of course, I still have a *long* ways to go, but... it's always nice to see progress.

Placeholder

Just a silly thing I did because I'm incapable of making an actual illustration! Overlaid a lot of photos and started editing them.

Everything in Moderation (Especially Moderation)

Been feeling a little discouraged about art lately. I attribute that to the fact that I've been doing environments (which I stink at) almost exclusively. Today I opened up my traditional sketchbook for the first time in months and started sketching some figures from reference. I enjoyed it for 2 reasons:
1. I improved significantly. (how, I'm not sure, but... I'll take it!)
2. It was extremely relaxing.
Definitely going to be sketching with pencil a lot more.  I'd like to get some mid-tone paper and start sketching with conte/charcoal as well.

Creepy Face

Well, I'm trying to make a habit of drawing more. It relieves my stress and I get better at the same time - double positives.
Tonight, I was doodling funny over-exaggerated faces, and then for some reason I created this out of one of them. It kind of freaks me out. I also did a couple environment thumbs but my computer crashed and I wasn't able to salvage them.

I'm also trying to think something up for an illustration that's due in a week. When I asked my friend, he said it should be a penguin with a butterfly knife. For some reason the quick doodle I did for him makes me laugh a lot, so here it is:

I Stink at Composition

Well, today in class Horia talked about sketching environments with a purpose. I tried that, got frustrated, and then did the opposite, which failed epicly. :(

Horia's attempt to show me how to have not completely horrible composition (with a mouse!)

Metal Forest

Since I haven't actually posted anything I've done for 3d modeling... Here's the start to a redwood forest I'm working on. There will eventually be ruins, proper lighting, etc. Everything is mostly placeholders for now.

Silhouette

Today's lesson was on silhouettes. I'd like to finish this guy sometime.

Presidential Portrait

Today we were supposed to work on quick sketches. Composition is my weakest point so it was hard for me. Here are some presidential portrait thumbnails. Towards the end you can tell I was running out of ideas.

And one I decided to expand on a bit... (5 mins)

Franklin

Meet Franklin, the dog belonging to the friend whose boyfriend's dog I drew yesterday. He came out okay. I'm learning so much about color, shading, etc. with all of these.

Puppers!

This is my friend's boyfriend's puppy. She had a really cute picture so I decided to draw it. It looks like a completely different breed of dog, and not a puppy, and.. y'know, that paw. But... not bad for my first time drawing a dog!

Sketches 5/31

I couldn't sleep, so I booted up my computer, opened Photoshop, and started doodling. Afterwards, I did some posemaniac poses, and screengrabbed one that I have attempted many times; and failed. Tried to work out where things would go by doing an overlay.

I need to start drawing creatures & guys.

Doodles 3/12

Was just doodling...  crazy eyes!
